During the epidemic prevention and control period, the exit and entry administration department across China continues to provide visa extension, stay permit and residence permit processing service to foreigners, so as to guarantee their lawful stay and residence in China. In order to curb the virus spread and support work resumption, National Immigration Administration (NIA) has recently introduced 10 measures including reopening exit-entry service windows and providing facilitation. Guangzhou exit and entry administration department has also introduced 8 measures to facilitate exit and entry process for expats in the city during the period, let's check! Handling time limit for Hong Kong and Macau business endorsemet will be reduced comprehensively.
Foreigners who are in urgent needs to attend meetings, negotiate, sign contracts or have an urgent business can apply expedited processing. Enterprises and institutions can directly apply for Hong Kong and Macau business endorsement at the front desk, no reservation required. Application accepted if foreigners who work or study at units that have resumed operation cannot submit necessary required materials due to the epidemic and promise to submit them within the stipulated time.
In order to meet the needs as best as possible, the exit-entry department will provide convenience for foreigners to apply for visas and come to Guangzhou for business affairs.
EXTEND RESIDENCE VALIDITY
Application range of long-term residence permits for foregin employees will be expanded. For those who work in registered entities with good credit, the validity period of their work-type residence permit will be further extended. It will be more than 2 years for the first application, and more than 3 years for the re-application. PROVIDE DOOR-TO-DOOR SERVICES
Door-to-door services of Hong Kong and Macau business endorsement will be provided to certain enterprises.
Door-to-door services of visas application will be available for enterprises with numbers of foreigners.
Foreigners' visa docments can be processed online and delivered by local express. All procedures of the following application are contactless:
- Enterprises, entities and colleges apply for visas of business, visitors and students for foreginers who they invite, receive, employ and recruit, or
- Apply for extension of study-type and work-type residence permit for foreginers who they invite, receive, employ and recruit, and their families.
PROVIDE SPECIAL TREATMENT
Exit-entry documents of foreign students that their colleges and universities have delayed the start will be handled with special treatment:
- Colleges and universities will organize students to apply for student visas.
- If the visas expire caused by the delay due to the epidemic, students will be exempted from the penalty for overstaying.
- If the residence documents expire while students are outside the country, they can apply for general visas to enter China, and apply for residence permits with letter of universities that explains the situation.
